What is Receptor Signaling ?
Receptor signaling encompasses the molecular events initiated by ligand binding to receptors (RTKs, GPCRs, cytokine receptors, nuclear receptors) that transmit information into the cell. These cascades control proliferation, differentiation and metabolism. Dysregulated receptor signaling is the basis for many cancers and is targeted by numerous therapeutic antibodies and kinase inhibitors.
