What is Neurodevelopment ?
Neurodevelopment encompasses the processes that build the nervous system, including neural induction, neurogenesis, neuronal migration, axon guidance and synaptogenesis. Disruption of these steps causes disorders like autism spectrum disorder, microcephaly and lissencephaly. CRISPR-based gene perturbation in cerebral organoids and animal models reveals gene function in human brain development.
