What is Axon Guidance & Growth ?
Axon guidance is the developmental process by which neurons extend axons to their appropriate targets, directed by attractive and repulsive guidance cues such as netrins, slits, semaphorins and ephrins. This process is essential for nervous system wiring and its failure contributes to neurodevelopmental disorders and nerve regeneration failure after injury.
