What is Cell Division ?
Cell division is the process by which a parent cell divides into daughter cells. Mitosis ensures equal chromosome distribution via spindle assembly and cytokinesis, while meiosis generates haploid gametes. Errors in cell division cause aneuploidy, a driver of cancer and developmental disorders, and are exploited by anti-mitotic chemotherapies.
