Description
PTPN20 encodes a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This gene is located on chromosome 10q11.22 and is expressed in multiple tissues. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants.
