Description

ADGRE3 (Adhesion G Protein-Coupled Receptor E3), also known as EMR3, encodes a member of the adhesion G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family. The protein contains multiple N-terminal EGF-like domains and a GPCR proteolytic site (GPS) domain, characteristic of adhesion GPCRs. It is involved in cell-cell adhesion and immune cell interactions, particularly in myeloid cells. The gene is located on chromosome 19p13.2.

Protein Summary

The ADGRE3 protein (UniProt Q9BY15) is a 693-amino acid adhesion GPCR with a large extracellular region containing EGF-like domains, a GPS domain, and a seven-transmembrane domain. It is expressed predominantly in myeloid cells and may mediate cell-cell adhesion and immune surveillance. No disease associations or pathogenic mutations have been established.
